Would you pay $16,794 more for a new Toyota Rav4 instead of a new Mazda CX-5?

In the next couple minutes we’re going to show you how to get more for your money simply by
trying something new.

Humans are creatures of habit. We find something that works for us and we generally tend to
stick with it until we’re given a reason to change things up.

This isn’t a bad thing. Some might say that it’s complacency. But others would argue that it’s a
classic case of ‘don’t fix what isn’t broken.’

And we agree.

Why would you try another car brand if you’ve had good luck with Toyotas in the past?
Odds are, if you’ve owned a Toyota, you’ve had a pretty good experience. They’re reliable.
Affordable. Safe.

What more could you want?

As it turns out, there’s a lot more you could want...and a lot more you deserve from your vehicle.

Mazda offers you all those things and more. In fact, Mazda is a better bang for your buck and
we’re going to show you why.

Safety

It’s no secret that Toyota is known for producing safe vehicles. When it comes to you and your
loved ones’ safety there should be no compromises.

IIHS Top Safety Pick+ has become the gold standard in safety awards for auto manufacturers.
A Top Safety Pick+ is different from a Top Safety Pick – a model must have a rating of
Acceptable or Good on all trim levels, not just the higher trim levels.

For many models, Rav4 included, you have to purchase upgraded packages to get the required
equipment that qualifies the Rav4 for a Top Safety Pick.

In this case, you must purchase the Rav4 Hybrid Limited to get comparable safety ratings on
the entry level Mazda CX-5.

What does that mean? It means you have to spend $14,700 more on a Rav4 to get comparable
safety features to even the most affordable Mazda CX-5.

Because of Mazda’s unwavering commitment to safety, Mazda has amassed six IIHS Top
Safety Pick+ models for 2020: Mazda 3 hatchback; Mazda 3 sedan; Mazda 6; CX-3; CX-5; and
CX-9.

Is that more for your money? We think so.

Reliability

We all know that Toyota has a reputation for reliability. In fact, that may be Toyota’s biggest
strength, especially with models like the Rav4.

But what if we told you that was old news?

Consumer Reports has rated Mazda as the car brand with the best reliability for 2020. In fact,
Mazda is the only non-luxury brand for which Consumer Reports has recommended every
single model tested - six out of six.

Meanwhile, Consumer Reports recommends fewer than three quarters of the Toyotas they’ve
tested.

Warranty

It’s tough to beat the unlimited mileage warranty that comes standard on all new Mazdas.
It’s especially tough to beat when you consider that no other manufacturer offers anything like it
- not even for a price.

What does that say about the confidence Mazda has in the company’s entire product line?
When you buy any new Mazda you get a three-year comprehensive warranty along with a
five-year powertrain warranty, both with no mileage restriction.

Most other manufacturers include a 3-year/60,000km comprehensive and a 5-year/100,000km
powertrain warranty standard on all new vehicles.

If you want to max out the allowable mileage for five years of warranty on a new Rav4 it’s going
to cost you $2,094 + tax (5 year/160,000km coverage). And even then, that only gets you
160,000km of coverage - far less than unlimited.

Mazda’s standard warranty really is second to none.

Toyota Tax

So what does all this mean?

It means that you would have to spend $16,794 extra to get a Rav4 with the same safety rating
and comparable mileage warranty coverage as an entry level CX-5.

$14,700 (for an IIHS Top Safety Pick model)
$2,094 (for extra warranty)
Toyota Tax Total - $16,794

Why should you buy a Mazda?

It’s simple.

Connections over transactions. Passion takes precedence. Craftsmanship at its core.

That’s the Clubhouse of Driving Passion that you join when you own a Mazda.

Let us leave you with one final thought.

Consider this:

Life gets boring. Monotonous.

We’re always looking for ways to change things up. To reinvent ourselves. To find new life in old
routines.

When you’re making an investment in a new vehicle, you don’t want it to be ‘just transportation.’
In today’s day and age it has to be more than that.

After all, the average person spends just over 4 years driving a vehicle. Do you really want your
vehicle to be ‘just transportation’?

If you try a Mazda and don’t like it, then go buy that Toyota. We can’t (and won’t) stop you.
As we’ve said, odds are there will be no surprises. You know what you’re getting. And nothing
will change.

But...and this is a big BUT…

We think if you test drive a new Mazda it will rekindle that old flame from a time when your car
wasn’t just how you got to work.

But when it was your connection to the outside world. An extension of yourself and your
personality.

Are you just another commuter?

Or are you a driver?

If you’re considering a new vehicle then you have the rare opportunity to reinvent a part of
yourself.

Will you take advantage of the opportunity?
