Production Begins For The All-New 2023 Mazda CX-50
February 08 2022, Centennial Mazda
Just as January rolled to a close, Mazda’s CEO and President of North American Operations, Jeff Guyton, rolled the first 2023 Mazda CX-50 off the Discovery Line in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mazda’s new Alabama plant will be the home of CX-50 production, where they expect to manufacture up to 150,000 units each year. According to Jeff Guyton, “the production of the CX-50 here signifies the importance of the North American market to Mazda,” and it only seems fitting that Mazda’s most undeniably North American crossover is built where it will be driven.
As rugged as it is capable, the 2023 Mazda CX-50 is designed to meet the needs of North Americans who “look for an SUV-like presence and off-road performance in their vehicle.” Featuring the latest i-Activ All-Wheel Drive technology as standard equipment, your choice between Skyactiv-G 2.5 naturally aspirated engine or Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine, paired with a responsive six-speed automatic transmission, the CX-50 strikes the perfect balance between comfortable city cruiser and trailblazing traveler.
The CX-50’s wide stance, modern utilitarian lines, and low roof-line help convey its adventurous spirit, while its interior features are designed to keep you grounded in nature. Showcasing Mazda’s first-ever panoramic moonroof, engineers of the all-new crossover have thoughtfully crafted the perfect cabin to both support and enable outdoor activities. Generous storage space, reinforced roof and door jambs, an elongated cargo floor, and a lift-gate optimized for easy loading are just the beginning of Mazda’s journey beyond the road.
Stay tuned as we keep you up to date with the latest 2023 Mazda CX-50 news before it arrives this spring.
