Mazda CX-5 Is A Car And Driver 10 Best Winner For A Fourth Consecutive Year
November 24 2020, Centennial Mazda
For a fourth consecutive year, the Mazda CX-5 is a Car And Driver 10 Best winner.
As competition heats up across the modern automotive industry, the 2021 edition of Car And Driver's annual awards is more challenging than ever. This year, as always, Car And Driver invites back the previous year's winners plus every new or significantly revised vehicle. That creates a list of 57 vehicles, all with prices under USD $90,000.
That means the Mazda CX-5 wasn't just faced with competition like the Subaru Crosstrek and Toyota Highlander but also the Land Rover Defender, Cadillac Escalade, and Mercedes-Benz E450 All-Terrain. It's a heady list of qualified candidates. But those vehicles aren't among the 10 Best.
The Mazda CX-5 is. Why?
- "The CX-5's sharp styling, handsome interior, and rich paint are visible differentiators in this class, but the driving experience is what elevates it."
- "Bend into a corner and the steering gives satisfying feedback that's aligned with the firmness of the suspension."
- "The brakes grab as though they were tuned by the same engineer who did the MX-5 Miata's."
- "It's imbued with the feel of a performance vehicle, but it's also practical, refined, and thoughtfully designed."
