2024 Mazda CX-30 Gets More Power And More Tech
September 21 2023, Centennial Mazda
Gone is the entry-level 2.0-liter engine; standard is a revamped Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the 2024 Mazda CX-30. Also standard in the 2024 is Mazda's i-Activ all-wheel drive.
For the 2024 CX-30 GX, the addition of an improved 2.5-liter means there's an extra 36 horsepower and an extra 36 lb-ft of torque. Better yet, fuel economy actually improves in the new CX-30, as well, thanks to the addition of cylinder deactivation.
Standard equipment levels in the GX are very high, with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, an 8.8-inch centre screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, 8-speaker Mazda Harmonic Acoustics audio, pushbutton start, and LED headlights.
In the 2024 CX-30, dynamic cruise control, lane keep assist, auto high beams, and an array of other advanced safety features are included. There's also dual-zone automatic climate control and a heated steering wheel.
Adding the Luxury Package to the CX-30 GS, meanwhile, upgrades the infotainment to a new 10.25-inch centre display with full touchscreen functionality for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The CX-30 GS also includes leatherette upholstery, a 10-way power driver's seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, reverse tilt-down exterior mirrors, and a sunroof.
The 2024 CX-30 GT takes the GS Luxury Package and adds a lot. There's 12-speaker Bose audio, heads-up display, navigation, adaptive front lighting, and proximity access. Wheels are upgraded to 18-inch alloys. The leather upholstery is available in black, red, or white. The GT's tech upgrades include a 360° monitor, front and rear parking sensors, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
Mazda Canada's 2024 CX-30 GT Turbo, as one would expect, takes the CX-30 GT and switches out the Skyactiv-G 2.5-liter engine for a turbocharged edition with 250 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. You can spot the different GT model by its black 18-inch alloys, black mirrors, and larger exhaust.
For 2024, the CX-30 adds a new model for the Canadian lineup built on the GT Turbo. The Mazda CX-30 Suna wears Zircon Sand paint and Terracotta upholstery with black suede-trimmed inserts. The Suna is priced at $40,700 (not including $2,095 for freight/PDE.)
2024 CX-30 prices begin at $28,150, moves to $31,450 and $33,650 for the two GS variants, and $37,550 or $39,550 for the GT and GT Turbo.
