2021 Canadian Car Of The Year Is The Mazda 3, The Only Car To Ever win Canadian Car Of The Year In Consecutive Years
March 31 2021, Centennial Mazda
Back to back. Two years running. Two in a row.
For the first time ever, there's a repeat winner of Canadian Car Of The Year. It's the Mazda 3.
For 2020, and then again in 2021, the Mazda 3 is the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's Car Of The Year. it's the one to buy, the one to lease, the one to have and to hold. AJAC's nationwide crop of testers evaluate vehicles based on performance, features, technology, design, fuel consumption, and value. AJAC initially names eight winners by segment, and then from that group of eight winners picks the overall Canadian Car Of The Year.
Eligible in 2020 as an all-new vehicle, then eligible in 2021 thanks to the addition of the Skyactiv-G 2.5 Turbo engine option, the Mazda 3 scored an unprecedented second victory in unprecedented times. The 2021 Mazda 3 scored top overall scores for style/appearance, quality, driver position and ergonomics, noise/vibration/harshness, performance, vehicle dynamics, and safety.
Even before this latest victory, Mazda is the king of Canadian Car Of The Year awards. In fact, Mazda is AJAC's most awarded brand ever. The Mazda 3 also won Canadian Car Of The Year in 2004 and finished atop its category in 2004, 2007, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2018, and 2020.
