2023 Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition – Canadian Price, Release Date, Specs, And Apex Package Details
August 02 2022, Centennial Mazda
Beginning life as a 2023 Mazda CX-50 GT Turbo, Mazda's new range-topping CX-50 Meridian Edition places added focus on the CX-50's already exemplary off-road credentials. Mazda is also releasing an Apex Package that provides an even more adventurous bent to the CX-50 Meridian Edition.
Outfitted as standard with Mazda's turbocharged 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine, the CX-50 Meridian Edition pumps out 256 horsepower and a stump-pulling 320 lb-ft of torque. Like the CX-50 GT Turbo, the Meridian Edition includes a Mi-Drive system with Normal, Sport, Off-Road, and Towing modes. Towing capacity for the CX-50 Meridian Edition hits 3,500 pounds.

But it's the added off-pavement capability of the Meridian Edition that sets this distinctively styled CX-50 apart. You'll know it when you see it thanks to a matte black hood, black wheel locks and lug nuts, and the black side rocker panels. Meridian Edition CX-50s will be painted only in Polymetal Grey Metallic or Zircon Sand Metallic.
Where the rubber meets the road, the Meridian Edition trades the GT Turbo's 20-inch wheels (wearing 245/45R20 all-season tires) for 18-inch wheels with 225/60R18 all-terrain Falken tires. No Mazda, not even the CX-50 Meridian Edition, is going to sacrifice on-road performance, but the chunky Falkens are designed to give the CX-50 a major leg up in the dirt.
Priced at $47,850 (not including $1,950 for freight and PDE), the CX-50 Meridian Edition slots above the $37,900 CX-50 GS-L, $42,850 CX-50 GT, and $45,350 CX-50 GT Turbo. The CX-50 Meridian Edition can also be upgraded with the $1,400 Apex Package: roof-mounted black crossbars, roof platform, and splash guards front and rear.
The CX-50 Meridian Edition officially goes on sale this fall. Reach out to a member of the Centennial Mazda team to reserve yours.
